Paris: India’s number one pro-golfer, Shubhankar Sharma, achieved the best-ever finish for an Indian in Men’s Olympics Golf at the Paris Olympics 2024. Shubhankar finished 40th overall with -1 under 283 at the Le Golf National in Paris.

The previous best performance in the Olympics was by Anirban Lahiri in Tokyo 2020, where he finished in 42nd place. Compatriot Gaganjeet Bhullar also delivered a commendable performance, finishing tied for 45th place with a final round score of 70.

Expressing gratitude about his first Olympics Shubhankar said, “My Olympic experience has been unlike any other golfing event. It had the feel of a major tournament, yet with a different hue. I believe Olympics golf will very soon be right up there with the best of the golf events anywhere in the world – a fifth major with a golden touch for the country. I’m also confident that as a nation, we have the potential to achieve even greater success. This is just the beginning; we are embarking on a journey toward significant national glory.”

Shubhankar’s exceptional performance closely follows his recent partnership with Roundglass, a Wholistic Wellbeing brand. Expressing immense pride in Shubhankar’s Paris performance, Sunny Gurpreet Singh, Founder of Roundglass said, “Shubhankar has done exceptionally well in his first Olympics. His performance will inspire many young golfers in India to excel in the tour and perform well for the country in future competitions. I am confident that Shubhankar will come back stronger for the next Olympics and win a medal for India.”

Shubhankar is the brand ambassador for Roundglass Sports, and his engagement with the brand includes the promotion of its various entities, such as the Roundglass Foundation and the Roundglass Golf Academy, which is expected to become operational in two years. This association is an extension of Roundglass Sports’ mission to support and promote top athletes, including marquee golfers in India, who possess the talent to compete and win at the international level.

“I believe that beyond the general awakening towards Golf in the country, initiatives like Roundglass will significantly advance the sport at the grassroots level. The Roundglass Golf Academy will be a game changer, offering world-class facilities right here in our country,” added Shubhankar.
