Special Olympics Bharat successfully concludes the three-day National Youth Leadership Summit 2024 in New Delhi

New Delhi: Special Olympics Bharat (SO Bharat) conducted the National Youth Leadership Summit 2024 from 18th to 20th December at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi. Organised by the initiatives department of SO Bharat, the summit was part of the third pillar of SO Bharat which deals with the aspects of Youth, Education and Leadership. The aim of the annual summit was to reinforce change in communities by empowering youth leaders through social dialogues, training and workshops.

This year, the summit embraced the theme ‘Unite, Inspire, Lead- Youth at the Frontline’ and brought youth leaders, athletes, speakers and international delegates from across the globe to conduct different sessions for youth leaders with and without intellectual disabilities (ID).

The three-day event featured multiple workshops, panel discussions and activities to make it an interactive yet informative experience for the participants. Over 86 participants from 23 Indian states and Union Territories took part in the summit which also included a visit to the famous Dilli Haat to explore craft artistry from across India.

Dr. Mallika Nadda, President of SO Bharat said, “We are enthralled to have organised yet another successful edition of the Special Olympics Bharat National Youth Leadership Summit. The three-day event was a perfect amalgamation of learning and fun with the participants enjoying the interactive sessions and activities we planned for them. The aim of the event was to encourage the youth of our country to build a better society through inclusion which is yet another step forward in the direction of achieving the goal of SO Bharat. ”

Kalash Kaushal, head of the summit’s organising committee also expressed her happiness over the success of the event, “It was great to host over 86 participants from different states of the country and drive them towards the idea of building an equitable society through their participation. The role of youth leaders is key to our society’s success and they are the flagbearers of inclusion. We look forward to hosting the summit next year and carrying the message of the inclusion revolution forward.”
