New Delhi, 25 September 2026: Decathlon India, the leading multi-specialist sports brand, today unveiled a comprehensive business strategy for its expert running sub-brand, Kiprun by Decathlon. Decathlon India announced an ambitious target to achieve a running sport turnover of ₹1,000+ Crore by 2030, serving over 5 million active runners across its full product portfolio, which spans high-performance running shoes, apparel, hydration packs, trail gear and accessories.

To power this expansion, KIPRUN by Decathlon is introducing 35 new products across its running segment this year, anchored by 17 high-performance running shoes designed to bring world-class performance to runners of all levels. Furthermore, a rich product pipeline is already in development to sustain future momentum.

The announcement comes at a transformative moment for Indian sports culture. With organized race events expanding nationwide, KIPRUN plans to drive strong market growth through advanced product engineering and meaningful community engagement.

According to IMARC Group, the Indian running gear market grew from USD 2.5 billion in 2025 to USD 2.7 billion in 2026, with projections reaching USD 4.9 billion by 2034. Decathlon’s performance running portfolio continues to capture this momentum, driven by accelerating demand for technical innovations like advanced cushioning, responsive foam technologies, and carbon-infused footwear.

“India is at an inflection point in its sports journey; running is rapidly evolving from a niche fitness activity into a mainstream, community-led movement. “Kiprun by Decathlon represents a focused bet on the future of running and serves as a core pillar of Decathlon’s long-term multi-sport strategy in India. As a dedicated, technical running brand validated by professional runners and athletes across the world, our ambition is to scale our turnover past ₹1,000 Crore by 2030, serving over 5 million active runners. To drive this growth, we are anchoring our strategy around performance footwear innovation alongside expert-guided customer experiences across our stores and digital channels.” said, Hans Peter Jensen, Sports Director, Decathlon Sports India.
