New Delhi: Indian Railway’s newly constructed, biggest Indoor Stadium Complex at Behala, Kolkata was dedicated to sportspersons by Hon’ble Minister of Indian Railways on 30th May.

The stadium with multipurpose game facilities having sitting capacity of more than 1500 persons in 2 tiers. It can accommodate numbers of badminton courts,24 Table Tennis tables, 10 billiards tables, rings for Karate and boxing, 1 court each for Volleyball, Basket Ball and wrestling etc. This facility can be utilised for organising various National and international indoor championships. It will be a big boost for sports in Eastern Region.

During inauguration Hon’ble Minister for Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw interacted with sportspersons of Eastern Railway. He was extremely happy to know that alone ER has 10 Olympians and 10 Arjuna awardees and many national and international champions .
This facility will bring new dimensions to sports in Eastern region and will benefit to sports as whole.
