The Bulletin has been compiled by Prof.( Dr.) Meenakshi Pahuja, Professor, Physical Education, Lady Shri Ram College for Women. She is a renowned International swimmer who has won many medals for the country & a prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar Awardee.

New Delhi: The 46th Issue of V.K. Pahuja Annual Swimming Statistical Bulletin was released by chief guest, Ashwani Khurana Founder-CEO / Chief Eternal Optimist Karma Lakelands Golf Resort and Residences at Annex, India International Center on 23rd June, 2026 at New Delhi.

Dr.Tapan Kumar Panigrahi, Dronacharya Awardee & Secretary General, Underwater Sports Federation of India & Mr.Rakesh Rao, Renowned Sports Journalist were guests of honour.

Shri. Dayanad Singhal, Former DCP & Mr.Kamesh Srinivasan, Former Deputy Editor Sports, The Hindu were special guests at the release function.

The first copy of the Bulletin was presented to Mr.P.D. Dutta, Senior most Diving Official of India.

On this occasion five performing swimmers at national level were honoured & given cash awards as well, Awesome, Aryan Lamba, Garvyanash Sharma, Etash Karakula & Veer Bharia from Bal Bharti school and four para swimmers, Aman Sharma, 7th Rank in the 24th Summer Deaflympics, Brazil, 2021 & winner of multiple events at the 25th and 26th National Deaf Junior & Senior championships (2023 & 2025). Revansh Adlakha, Para National gold medallist, Sanvi Rai, Gold medallist & lakshay Rawat, S-10 category, Para National Gold Medallist were also honoured & given cash awards as well. This bulletin has an exclusive interview of Arjuna Awardee, Prasanta Karmakar, two para swimmers Sanvi Rai, & lakshay Rawat. Special article on Upcoming Asian Games & Tribute to Randhir Singh, Olympian, IOC Member & one of the greatest promoter of Indian Sports.

Several young swimmers, parents and swimming coaches and sports lovers were also present at the function.

On the occasion, Chief guest Ashwani Khurana based on his rich experience, advised all to take out special time for health & fitness and send a strong message treat mother earth as your own mother, plant trees & do bend several times a day firstly to bend your ego and secondly to pick up garbage to clean mother earth.

Guest of honour, Rakesh Rao fondly remembered Mr. V.K. Pahuja and his commitment & passion to maintain swimming statistics. Dr.Tapan Kumar Panigrahi, spoke on importance of timings and even a friction of second impacts the result. He called the swimming statistical bulletin a very noble cause and it is the guiding light for the entire swimming community be it parents, coaches or swimmers. The bulletin compiles state, national, international records & results which help in setting targets for swimmers & enhances knowledge.

All appreciated the hard work of Prof. ( Dr.) Meenakshi Pahuja. Her commitment in preserving and advancing this legacy with devotion and academic rigor. This 46th Edition, with its tribute to Shri Pahuja and rich documentation of national and international data, reflects the true spirit of sportsmanship and scholarly excellence which will guide current swimmers & generations to come.

For the three children of Mr. V.K. Pahuja, Mr. Priyank Pahuja (Son), Dr. Supriya Pahuja & Dr. Meenakshi Pahuja (daughters) the statistical bulletin is the labor of love, passion, commitment & selfless service to the sport.

The V. K. Pahuja Swimming Statistical Bulletin is in the memory of Late Mr. V. K. Pahuja, who started this bulletin. He was an eminent National Medallist Swimmer and International Water Polo player of his time. Mr. Pahuja was also a highly reputed swimming coach who served in various significant positions, such as FINA International Water Polo Referee, Member of the International Swimming Statistician Association, Official Statistician of the Swimming Federation of India and School Games Federation of India. He always believed in promoting swimming as a sport for health, pleasure and safety. Till his last breath, he was willing to help, serve and contribute further in this cause.

This edition carries a tribute to the legend – Mr. V. K. Pahuja himself. Besides that, running into 460 pages which are divided into 6 sections, the Bulletin comprises records of local, national and international scenes and comparative studies of the various prominent countries of the world on a swimming map. The book also comprehends a very interesting Reference Section telling us about the participation of the Indian swimmers in various international championships in the last 90 years. It is an excellent reference book for swimming coaches, journalists and aquatic lovers. In short, we can say that it is a worth preserving Reference Book, the only one of its kind in the country.

The Bulletin also contains many interesting articles based on sports, diet, elementary treatment of sports injury, dealing with physically challenged children, health advice such as “The Benefits of Swimming on the Heart”, written by eminent doctors, lecturers and swimmers.
