For over a decade, Welspun alongside its heritage brand Christy has been manufacturing towels for Wimbledon at its Terry Towel Facility in Gujarat, India. This year is made more special, as Centre Court celebrates its 100^th year anniversary and these unique towels which feature the Christy logo are very much part of this rich history. From 2021, upholding gender quality, Wimbledon introduced unisex towels and provided the classic green & purple along with a seasonal towel to every player. Before that, the classic Wimbledon towel was provided to the male players while the seasonal towels were provided to the female players.

For 35 years, Christy has been supplying the Official Championships towels to the tennis elite to use on the world-famous courts at Wimbledon. Welspun has been associated with Wimbledon since 2006 when it acquired Christy, a British towel brand. Post 2010, its manufacturing base was shifted from Hyde, Greater Manchester to Vapi in Gujarat.

These iconic towels are produced from the finest grade of cotton which make them highly soft and absorbent. Sustainably made, The Championships towels are Oeko-Tex MADE IN GREEN certified which provides peace of mind that they have been made without using harmful substances and produced in a factory that adheres to strict ecological and social standards. To add to that this year, Christy have removed all pointless plastic packaging using sustainably sourced FSC certified card instead.

Even the legendary Roger Federer has admitted to packing these premium towels as souvenirs since they make good gifts.
