Lucknow: Third seed Russian Evgeny Donskoy served and stroked with authority to outwit Indian Manish Suresh kumar 6-2,7-5 in the second round of the $25,000 ITF men’s tennis tournament at Ekana International Tennis Stadium today.

In his prime, Donskoy was ranked No.65 in the world and had beaten several top players, including Roger Federer, Ivo Karlovic, Mikhail Youzhny, Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov.

Meanwhile, the second seed American Oliver Crawford with his quicksilver footwork and an explosive game took out Siddharth Rawat 6-1,6-2.

Top seed Nam Hoang Ly had to break a sweat to defeat Australian Blake Ellis 6-2,3-6,6-3. The Australian Ellis was no match for the consistency and fitness of the Vietnamese.

Varanasi boy Siddharth Vishwakarma earned 4 valuable ATP points as he sailed past French man and sixth seed Andrew Weber without much effort with 6-0,6-0.

It was Indian Davis Cup player Karan Singh who deserves the limelight on the 3rd day of the tournament as he came back from the first set down, to beat P. Kovapitukted 4-6,6-4,6-2 in an intense battle which lasted 2 hours 13 minutes.

India number 2 Shashi kumar Mukund took down R. Agarwal 6-2,7-6 to book a place in the Quarter finals. Ukrainian Vladys Orlov showcases some smooth forehands and a serve and volley variation to overcome the hurdle of Serbian Boris Butulija by 6-2,6-2.
It was a heartbreak for last week’s runner up in Delhi Yusuke Takahashi as he bowed out after a 2 hour 11 minutes long match against Ukrainian Eric Vanshelboim. The Japanese took the first set 6-3 but then went down 6-2, 6-2.
