New Delhi: In a letter addressed to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Prof. Vijay Kumar Malhotra, President, All India Council of Sports (AICS) said that All India Council of Sports has been deliberating since long for direct recruitment of promising athletes in state governments and he is very happy that the Uttar Pradesh Government has approved the Uttar Pradesh International Medal Winners Direct Recruitment Rules, 2022 for appointment of medal winners on 24 gazetted posts of nine department of the state government.

The state cabinet on Tuesday approved Uttar Pradesh International Medal Winners Direct Recruitment Rules, 2022 for appointment of medal winners on 24 gazetted posts of nine departments of the state government.

Prof. Malhotra said that its a big step taken by the UP Government for the athletes. Now, UP’s residents, who have won medals in Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games and Paralympics, would be eligible for appointment as gazetted officers.

The decision of UP Government is a historic move towards the development and bringing out excellence in sports and will boost the morale of the athletes of Uttar Pradesh, said Prof. Malhotra.

AICS President sent his heartiest congratulations to UP CM for keeping the morale of athletes high and hope that under your able leadership of Shri Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Government will continue to work for the holistic growth and development of sports in the state.
