New Delhi: Abhishek Goswami’s explosive century helps Tilak Nagar Colts to thrilling victory in the 49th All India Lala Raghubir Singh Hot Weather Prize Money Cricket Tournament at Modern School, Barakhamba Road. Tilak Nagar Colts defeated LB Shastri Cricket Centre by 2 wickets in an exciting contest. However, despite the win, Tilak Nagar Colts failed to qualify for the semifinals. To secure a semifinal spot, they needed to chase the target within 20 overs, but the team achieved the target in 23 overs. As a result, Sporting Club qualified for the semifinals from the group on the basis of a better run rate.

Batting first, LB Shastri Cricket Centre posted 256/8 in 40 overs. Raman Bishnoi scored 55 runs off 48 balls with 4 fours and 1 six, while Sampoorna Tripathi contributed 52 runs off 37 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Viraj also added 50 runs. For Tilak Nagar Colts, Madhur Upadhyay claimed 3 wickets for 51 runs, while Piyush Chikara and Garv Kataria picked up 2 wickets each.

In reply, Tilak Nagar Colts scored 257/8 in 23 overs. Abhishek Goswami played a sensational innings of 110 runs off 52 balls, smashing 12 fours and 7 sixes. Gaurav Sabharwal contributed 51 runs off 31 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Mehul Chaudhary added 36 runs. For LB Shastri Cricket Centre, Aakarshak Srivastava took 2 wickets for 46 runs and Praneet Tiwari claimed 2 wickets for 59 runs.
