New Delhi:The country is celebrating the 200th birth anniversary of Swami Dayanand Saraswati this year. Keeping this festival in mind, the Department of Physical Education of PGDAV College will organize the 2nd Swami Dayanand Saraswati Inter College T20 Cricket Tournament from April 23 to May 9, 2024.  The college, under the leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Sharma, is making massive progress in the field of academic activities as well as sports.

The students have got an opportunity to show their talent at the national and international level due to the development over the years in the facilities related to various sports available in the college campus.  As a result of this, now positive results are also being received.

In the cricket tournament 12 cricket teams of colleges of Delhi University will participate. Each team will at least get 1 day/night match and semifinals and Final will also be played day/night.

The teams are divided into four groups in this cricket tournament.  Group A consists of PGDAV- E, ARSD and Dr. BRAC College.  RLA, Shyamlal and Hindu College have been placed in Group B.  Group C has Stephen’s College, PGDAV-A & SGND Khalsa College.  While Group D has Zakir Hussain- M, CVS along with home team and last year champion PGDAV College. This year PGDAV has 2 teams in the tournament.

The final will be played on May 9 including 12 league matches and two semi-finals in the tournament.  Looking at the ground and pitch of the college, it can be expected that the tournament will witness a thrilling contest between both the bowler and the batsman.

For this successful event, Dr. Pawan Dabas and Dr. Mukesh Kumar has been appointed as the secretaries of the organizing committee.
