Behnavis, Spain: Diksha Dagar birdied her final hole on the second day to come back with 1-under 72 at Alferini Golf in the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España. Diksha, who shot 73 in the first round is 1-under for 36 holes and lying tied 35th even as the second round was still in progress.

Vani Kapoor who shot 1-over 74 in the first round was 3-over through 17 holes and trailing way back, while Amandeep Drall, runner-up at the Hero Women’s Indian Open, was even further behind at six-over with three holes left in second round. She had 76 in the first round.

Starting from the back stretch of the course, which begins on the 11th at Alferini Golf, Diksha birdied 12th and 13th and had pars till she dropped a shot on the second. A birdie followed on third but back to back bogeys saw her drop to even par. A birdie on the 10th, which was her closing hole, saw her back to red numbers.

Spanish amateur Cayetana Fernandez had rounds of 70-65 and was 11-under and in lead. Maja Stark, who has been in great form this season, shot 69 and was 5-under in second round to  nine under with one hole to play.

Also at 9-under is Morgane Metraux who after 68 in first round is 4-under through 14 holes in second round.

Cara Gainer fired an opening round of 66 (-7) on day one and was even after 12 on the second.

Defending champion Carlota Ciganda carded a round of six-under 67 on the first day.
