New Delhi: Power-packed performance by Indian Powerlifters, under the guidance of Coach Dronacharya Bhupender Dhawan, brought 12 medals including 8 gold medals in the Commonwealth Championship held at England, U.K.

Led by Ritesh Dogra lifting 300kg Raw Deadlift, created new record and won 3 gold in 90kg Class Raw with total lift of 767.5kg., Surender Singh won 3 gold in 100kg Class Raw with total lift of 735kg, Prabhjeet Singh Bakshi won 2 gold and 1 silver in 110kg class raw with total lift of 670kg, and Gulshan Saini won 2 gold and 1 bronze in 75kg Class Raw with total lift of 512.5kg.

Congratulating the winners, jubilant Bhupender Dhawan said “Credit goes to the hard work, determination and dedication of players during the last 4 weeks.” Team Manager Sujit Khatri congratulated everyone on this achievement.
