  • Differently-abled players will have all the facilities available
  •  Differently-able players of Uttar Pradesh have brought laurels to the state in Paralympic Games
    State govt is committed to encourage para-athletes
  •  Para sports and para-athletes will be included in every scheme of the department
  •  Differently-abled-friendly infrastructure will be created in state-owned sports facilities including hostels in the state.
  • Separately for para players in sports centers and academies, Quotas will be fixed

Lucknow: Differently-abled players in Uttar Pradesh will have access to all the sporting facilities by the state which will be a great boost for them and more talents will come to the fore, who will bring laurels to Uttar Pradesh in the Paralympic Games.

Recognition was granted to the Para Sports Association in a meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Welfare Dr. Navneet Sehgal at Bapu Bhawan today.

Along with this, a decision will be taken soon to include Deaf, Dumb and Blind (hearing, blind and deaf) players as well. Mr. Sehgal said that the state government was committed to encourage para-athletes in the state.
He added, “Work is being done to create a strong para sports eco system in the state. Para sports and para-athletes will be included in every scheme of the department.”

Dr. Sehgal said that disabled-friendly infrastructure will be created in the state-owned sports facilities including hostels in the state. Separate quota will be fixed for para players in sports centers and academies. High performance centers will be set up in many sports for para athletes.
Along with this, special trainers will be recruited for para sports and facilities will also be developed for blind and deaf sports. Paralympians will also be rewarded like other Olympic players.
SAI and officials of the sports department were present in the meeting of the committee.
