New Delhi: Ritesh Dogra, a student of Dronacharya Bhupendra Dhawan, has given brilliant performance to win the title of Best Lifter in the IPL European Powerlifting Championship held from 21 to 23 June 2024 in Schwetzingen, Germany.Ritesh has won two gold and one silver medal.

A total of 121 players from India, Germany, France, Italy, USA, England, Ireland, Moldova and Greece participated in this competition. The full results of the competition are given below:

In the 87 kg weight category Full Powerlifting, Ritesh won the first place by lifting a total of 760 kg and winning 2 gold and one silver medal. Justin of America lifted 740 kg and Rabad of Germany lifted 737.5 kg and finished second and third respectively.

Ritesh won the gold medal by lifting 300 kg and securing the first place in deadlift. Germany’s Rawad lifted 287.5 kg and Germany’s Kazimierz lifted 280 kg and secured second and third positions respectively.

In Bench Press, America’s Justin lifted 180 kg and secured first position by winning Gold. India’s Ritesh Dogra lifted 170 kg and Germany’s Kazimirz lifted 167.5 kg and secured second and third positions respectively.

In the thrilling competition of Full Powerlifting Raw Master, India’s Surendra Singh won a total of 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 bronze medal. Surendra lifted 665 kg. Germany’s Michel lifted 650 kg and Germany’s Lucas lifted 645 kg and secured second and third positions respectively.

In Deadlift Master, Surendra Singh lifted 270 kg and Germany’s Lucas lifted 265 kg and secured second position.

In Benchpress Master, Lucas of Germany lifted 200 kg, Surendra Singh of India lifted 165 kg and Michel of Germany lifted 155 kg and secured first, second and third positions respectively.

Prabhjeet Bakshi of India performed brilliantly in Full Powerlifting Open Raw. He won 2 gold and 1 silver. Total lift of Prabhjeet of India was 690 kg. In second place, Surendra Singh of India lifted 665 kg and in third place, Charidimos of Greece lifted 655 kg.

In Deadlift Open Raw, Surendra Singh of India secured first position by lifting 270 kg. Prabhjeet Singh of India lifted 260 kg and Jonas of Germany lifted 257.7 kg and secured second and third positions respectively.

In Benchpress Open Raw, Prabhjeet of India secured first position by lifting 170 kg. Jonas of Germany lifted 170 kg and Surendra Singh of India lifted 165 kg and finished second and third respectively.

Dronacharya Bhupendra Dhawan expressed happiness over the strong performance of Ritesh Dogra, Surendra Singh, Prabhjeet Bakshi and wished them good luck for even better performance in future. Appreciating the performance of other foreign players, Dhawan said that he has a lot of expectations from the emerging Indian players in this field of sports. Dronacharya Bhupendra Dhawan thanked the organizers for the excellent event and expressed his gratitude.
