Jharkhand, Bangladesh, Haryana and Manipur Schools Qualify for the Semi-Finals of 63rd Subroto Cup Junior Girls

New Delhi: Mother International School, Ranchi, Jharkhand; Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan; GSSS, Alakhpura, Haryana and The Porompat Sabal Leikai High School, Imphal East, Manipur qualified for the semi-finals of the 63rd Subroto Cup International Football Tournament being played here at the Ambedkar Stadium and KIIT Global School in Gurugram.

Mother International School will face last year’s runners up GSSS Alakhpura in the first semi-finals while Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan will meet The Porompat Sabal Leikai High School on Monday, 12th August at the Tejas Football Ground.

A brace from Babita Kumari was enough for Mother International School to overcome Tripura Sports School to book their place in the semi-finals at the Ambedkar Stadium. In the other quarterfinals at the same ground, former champions and last year’s runner up, GSSS, Alakhpura reached the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over Home Mission School, 1 Mizo BN NCC, Aizawl, Mizoram representing the National Cadet Corps (NCC). Kiran and Rishika scored for the winners while Ralramsangi scored the goal for the NCC side.

At the KIIT Global School in Gurugram, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan thumped Betkuchi High School, Guwahati, Assam 6-0 in a one sided match. Puja Chakma scored twice while Umma Kulsum, Shati Munda, Ayonto Bala Mahato and Mira Khatun scored the other goals.

In the last quarterfinal, S. Alva Devi’s 24th minute strike ensured, The Porompat Sabal Leikai High School secure a narrow victory over Christian Higher Secondary School, Meghalaya to book their semi-finals spot.
